Poker Book Review: Harrington on Hold'em Expert Startegy on No Limit Hold'em Tournaments by Dan Harrington and Bill Robertie

If you can't take advice from Dan Harrington about No Limit Hold'em tournaments, then you can go ahead and ignore this book - to your own detriment. After winning a major WSOP event and The European Championships in the same year of 1995, he made the final table in 2003 and 2004, while placing in several other WSOP events. The man knows his poker. If you are serious about poker tournaments you need to get to know Dan Harrington. A lot of the hands discussed in this book are single table, online sit and go scenarios - one of the best learning tools available on the market. read more..

Poker Book Review: Online Ace, by Scott Fischman

A WSOP Champion’s Guide to Mastering Internet Poker

Online Ace poker book. is all about internet poker though, as Fischman and a vibrant youth movement in poker have built years of experience condensed into months of online multi-tabling. Multi-tabling is also one of Scott’s sure fire recommendations in this book, as opposed to what many other authorities will teach. Fischman has a guiding theory that the way to temper, bad beats, bad luck, poor cards, and self brow beating is to simply play more games at once. This has a positive effect on your mind set, as some other table is going to require your attention in less than 2 seconds. No time for self pity, bad beat anger, or wrong play remorse. Learn. Adjust. Accept. Get on with the game because there is money to made and the fewer mistakes you commit during your play, the better you will be in the long run.

Read the full review here, as this book has a great sit and go section.

Poker Book Review: Killer Poker Online 2 by John Vorhaus

John Vorhaus is unlike any other poker author in that he is first and foremost a writer, but even more, a philosopher about the game of poker. His Killer Poker Books have all stood out from the competition in a way that other writers cant really touch and nor should they try. For doing so would be like Montel Williams emulating Plato. John Vorhaus is different. His writing about the game evokes self discovery as opposed to hand-to-hand combat, ala Harrington. Vorhaus approaches this angle with an introspect few of us players would have delved into otherwise. The thing is, you can know all there is to know about NL Holdem, but to be ultimately successful, an understanding of yourself is critical to that end. Read full review and a very in depthe section for sit and go tournaments..

Poker Book Review: Making the Final Table by Erick Lindgren

Another book from the World Poker Tour think tank, and thank God this one is much better. Erick may be a young professional but has proven himself on the WPT and internet play as well. One of the new faces of poker that is just as succesful online as in live play. This is interesting to be sure, because such a viewpoint has to be valid as half the field of 5000+ WSOP contestants are internet qualifiers now. Read the full poker book review here.
