Yes, this is a lesson in folding (mostly). You see in sit and go tournaments a winning strategy is often the opposite of what you feel like you should be doing. Calling bluffs, re-raising, 3betting hitting long shot draws etc.... uh no. That is the stuff of TV Land, not the real world of low limit online poker which generally requires you to watch from the sidelines in the early rounds.
In doing so, you are waiting for the field to drop off and even if that means you are short stacked by the time that happens, you still have a MUCH better chance of winning, or at least cashing - than any other player who has already been eliminated. Watch these sample hands here in this sit and go tournament I played, and see how I just play to stay alive, keep out of trouble spots, and avoid difficult decisions. |
